Jeffry Olson’s criminal defense practice focuses on guiding clients through the confusing criminal justice process. Any competent criminal defense attorney understands the criminal justice system and how to guide a client through it. However, Jeffry takes the time to listen to his clients and develop a relationship. His clients are confident that he has their best interests in mind throughout the process. Results matter, but so does developing the attorney-client relationship.
Being available by telephone is not always enough. Sometimes an accused is being held in jail. Jeffry takes the time to go to the jail and meet whenever possible. This includes nights and weekends. When someone is being held in jail, normal business hours do not matter.
Jeff graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1994 and served as a law clerk for the Honorable Andrew Danielson in the Fourth Judicial District in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In 1995, he began his law practice in Stillwater, Minnesota. His practice included real estate, estate planning, family law, civil law, and criminal law, eventually focusing solely on criminal law. This included 10 years as a public defender.
Jeff left Minnesota in February of 2013 when his wife began a job in Washington, D.C. After four years in DC, Jeffry and his family returned to Minnesota. In May of 2018, he formed his new law firm, the Jeffry Olson Law Firm PLLC. Jeffry has chosen to concentrate on criminal defense, understanding that clients need a guide through the criminal justice system. Clients and families want someone that takes the time to listen and develop a relationship.
Jeff understands the joys and struggles of raising a family. He also understands the unique challenges of a blended family, having lived through the ups and downs for over 20 years. He and his wife Christine have a 26-year old daughter, Madeleine and two cats, Mr. Bailiff and Diego. Our latest addition is Scout, a Great Dane puppy!
